“屈折”を意味する “refract” という言葉。
これまでに触れた数多くの音楽、それ以外の全てのマテリアルを
“自身”のフィルターを通して表現したい。
その想いから “refrat” という名で音楽制作を行っている。

2003年、個人での制作活動を始めた当初は MAX/MSP による自作パッチで加工した様々なレイヤーを Ableton Live 上でMixするスタイルで、 raster-noton やATAK などのレーベルに代表される様な電子音楽、エレクトロニカやアンビエント、ドローンなどの影響を受けた楽曲を制作。

活動停止の後、2020年より制作活動を再開。
現在は Perc や I Hate Models などのハードテクノの影響を受けた作風となっている。

1999年から4年間、ギタリストとしてのバンド活動を経て、
2003年より本格的にDTMに取り組み始め、”refract” という名義で活動を開始。
個人でのライブ活動や幾つかのバンドのリミックスを手掛ける。
2007年に北海道への一時転勤となったことから活動を一旦ストップ。
2020年、コロナ渦において在宅の時間が増えた中で、再トライを開始。
